Our Mineral+Biome® pool filtration system is inspired by nature and driven by science. Instead of using chlorine, salt, bromine or copper, we use beneficial bacteria and advanced filters to keep your pool water clean and safe.
Step 1 – Starving the algae
In our biological filters, “good” bacteria eat up key nutrients in the water, such as phosphorus, that algae and harmful microbes need to grow. This means algae and other unwanted organisms simply don’t have enough food.
Step 2 – Out-competing the bad bugs
The Mineral+Biome® bacteria colonise the filter and out-compete potentially dangerous pathogens (this is called biological predation). The good microbes take up space and resources so viruses, pathogens and algal cells can’t settle or multiply.
Step 3 – Creating ‘living water’ that’s hostile to pathogens
The result is nutrient-poor “living water” that is a very stressful, inhospitable place for pathogens, viruses or algal cells. Because the bad microbes cannot thrive, we can far exceed EU bathing water standards without using disinfection chemicals.
